Summer School Programs - Summer 2012
Students in Federal Way Public Schools have a variety of summer-time options for maintaining, expanding and improving their academic skills and knowledge.
The district offers fee-based summer school options for secondary students who want to take electives or advanced classes during the summer, or who need to make up credits in core classes . Students who successfully complete credit retrieval classes over the summer break may be able to stay on target for graduation.
Traditional Summer School
Students in grades 6-12 can register for the Traditional Summer School offered by the district beginning June 26 through July 27, 2012. Classes are offered in the areas of math, science, history and language arts. Summer school will be held at Sacajawea Middle School, 1101 S. Dash Point Road, Federal Way, WA 98003. Parents and guardians may register their student in person from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, June 22, at Sacajawea Middle School. The cost is $190 per class.
Internet Academy Summer School
Federal Way Public Schools' Internet Academy has a variety of regular core and elective classes in addition to the credit retrieval classes for students in grades 9-12. Classes run from June 26 through August 8. Registration can be completed online from May 12 through July 5.
By enrolling in IA classes, students and their family have added flexibility in making their summer plans: Students can complete the work literally anywhere they can take a computer.
