What Is Unique About Our School?

SGLE – Leadership Through Communication

The School of Global Leadership and Economics (SGLE) at Todd Beamer is a small, personalized community that academically prepares students to be successful in college, their communities, and in today’s increasingly competitive global marketplace.  SGLE students learn that economics is about connections we make with the world around us and that communication is key to making those connections.

With a consortium of university and business partners, SGLE fosters a global perspective that enhances students’ personal development and success.  Focusing on economics, international business relations, political systems, science and technology, this academy instills a passion for learning and independent thinking. SGLE students have many opportunities to get involved in school leadership, including SGLE’s ASB, our Site Leadership Team, assembly planning, Spirit Week, fundraisers, and other activities.

SGLE provides a personalized learning environment. Every student has an Advisor, an adult advocate, who helps build our home-school partnership.  Through Advisory, teachers develop close relationships with their students to guide them through graduation and help design a post high school plan.  As a result, students feel connected and more actively engaged in their school community.

We have designed a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, including Pre-AP and AP courses, to meet the interests and needs of students at all levels of academic skill, while allowing for broad background learning.  Our graduation requirements enable students to build strong college applications and resume credentials through a thorough grounding in the essential business communication skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking.  Students who are passionate about leadership in an engaging and interactive environment with excellent, caring teachers will feel at home in SGLE.

Exciting business communication offerings include College Writing, Yearbook, Broadcast Journalism, Graphic Design, Digital Photography, and Speech and Debate.

SGLE is a place where individuals matter and have a voice.  Active Site Leadership (SLT) and Associated Student Body (ASB) teams enable students and families to be a part of decision-making at all levels and guide the direction of our Academy.
