Claire Wilson brings to the Federal Way School Board over 30 years of experience in working with children and families, particularly in early childhood and K-12 education. She is currently the Executive Director for Early Learning at Puget Sound Educational Service District and previously taught high school in Tacoma where she coordinated the district's teen parent program.
Claire has been an active parent with the district's Family Partnership Office. She currently serves as a board member for the Kent Building Better Futures Board. She sits on the Statewide Head Start State Collaboration/ECEAP Advisory committee, and has been an active member of PTA/PTO at her children's schools since they entered kindergarten.
Claire holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition/Child and Family Studies from Washington State University and a Master of Arts in Home Economics/Adult Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She believes that all children can be successful in school and in life if they are provided with access, opportunities, quality teachers, quality schools, and quality leadership. A partnership between schools, parents, students and the community is essential in making this happen.
