Assessment
In Standards-Based Education, students know in advance what they will need to learn, and they will have more than one opportunity to show they have met the standard.
The goal is for students to master the standard through receiving high quality instruction. Whole class and guided group work as well as independent practice are all used to help students master standards.
Teachers will use both informal and formal assessment to measure progress. Assessments can include projects, quizzes, tests and daily assignments.
Students will have multiple assessment opportunities—and different assessment options—to demonstrate their understanding of the standards.The Components of Standards Based Education
